Let the games begin!20.08.2011

12 player from many European countries fought their way to these finals and finally today our first European Championship in AirRivals started.

We organized two groups which were made up like this:

Group A:
GreyAG - A-Gear - Switzerland (.de)
Ph0b14 - I-Gear - Portugal (.net)
KuQuS - I-Gear - France
Mando - M-Gear - Italy
Ulek - I-Gear - Poland
puch0s - B-Gear - Spain

Group B:
next2000 - A-Gear - Germany
Lazy - M-Gear - Hungary (.net)
Rgv26 - B-Gear - France
laedo - M-Gear - Italy
igearSpeedy - I-Gear - Turkey
ElGatoConBotas - B-Gear - Spain

Mando of course was favorized after his victory on Thursday.

The preliminaries were fought in single matches.
There were a lot of breathtaking and spectacular fights and nobody gave gifts. ^^

In the end in Group A it was Ph0b14 who dominated the field. But Mando again made a good job becoming the runner-up.
In Group B it was Lazy who entered the semifinal as groupleader. And again it was Italy who provided the runner-up to complete the first KO-round.
As expected the M-Gears were well represented. The B- and A-Gears hadn't much of a chance.

Entering the semifinal we changed mode in a "best of three". So the first who won two Arena-matches will reach the final, which takes place on Sunday.

The first semifinal match was between laedo and Ph0b14, where many were expecting a sure win by laedo. But he lost 0:2! Ph0b14 will try to win the titel tomorrow with his I-Gear.

The second semifinal match was a neverending story. Mando vs Lazy, M-Gear vs M-Gear. ^^
In the end, we had three draws and we decided to take a screenshot after the last match, and the one who had more HP and shield will win. Both had full HP but Mando had full shield as well and so he'll challenge tomorrow our Portuguese friend to determine our first European Champion.

The last match was for rank three, Lazy vs laedo, and again M-Gear vs M-Gear. ^^
This time however we had a kill from laedo and so he could secure himself the third place and an iPod.

We are looking forward to see the final tomorrow on the Main Stage in the ESL area.
